The Eagles made another roster move on Tuesday.
The team released saftey J.R. Reed on Tuesday to make room on the 53-man roster for fullback Kyle Eckel.
Eckel was signed to a two year contract by the Eagles on Tuesday to play fullback for the Birds. This is yet another fullback brought onto the Eagles roster that probably won’t see the end of the season.
Last year it was Thomas Tapeh while this year has been a plethora of names.
Those names include Jed Collins, Jason Davis, Luke Lawton, Dan Klecko (twice) and former running back Tony Hunt.
The only player remaining on the team’s active roster is Klecko. He has been moved back to defensive tackle. He was moved to fullback after Hunt was released after playing the first handful of games at DT.
Reed has now been released three times in his career by the Eagles.
On Tuesday the Eagles also released Jed Collins from the team’s practice squad to make room for guard Nevin McCaskill.

The Philadelphia Eagles made two roster moves on Tuesday involving their practice squad.
The team released cornerback Kyle Arrington from the practice squad and signed defensive back Jonathan Hefney to the practice squad.
Arrington was cut at the end of training camp by the Eagles and was signed to the practice leading up to the season opener against the Rams.
Hefney was released by Tampa Bay after being signed by the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent.
He is a native of Rock Hill, SC and attended Tennessee.
At Tennessee Hefney was a four year letter winner, appearing in 51 games. He tallied 322 tackles and 10 interceptions during his career. Of the 51 games started, 50 of them came consecutively.

The Eagles added depth to their linebacking core on Sunday.
They signed former Bird and Giant Tank Daniels and released veteran Rocky Boiman.
After final cuts were made to reach the league required 53-man active roster, you knew that there would be at least one more move to solidify this team.
Daniels was with the Super Bowl winning Giants in 2007 and was previously with the Eagles.
He also adds depth to an already impressive special teams unit.
The team has yet to name/sign players to their eight man practice squad for 2008.
The regular season begins on September 7th at home against the St. Louis Rams.
