No Burress; No Problem

The Giants will be without star wide receiver Plaxico Burress for Sunday’s game against the Eagles but that shouldn’t worry Giants fans.

Why not?

Because they have a deep wide receiving corps and a backfield to shoulder some of the load away from the receivers and Eli Manning.

Burress will be serving the first game of a season ending suspension handed down to him from the Giants after he was charged with weapons charged in New York earlier this week.

He was placed on the non-football reserve list which also disqualifies him from the playoffs as well.

The NFL Player’s Association is appealing the suspension for Burress but he will not play in all likelihood come Sunday against the Eagles.

Giants fans shouldn’t worry though; the rest of their core is too talented to worry.

Domenik Hixon, Amani Toomer, Steve Smith, Sinorice Moss and Mario Manningham will be able to fill the shoes of Burress easily.

If the Giants defeat the Eagles (winless in the division this year) they will clinch the 2008 division title and up their record to 12-1.
