Eagles at Vikings

The Eagles will visit the Minnesota Vikings this weekend in the NFC playoffs. I know; it still comes as a shock to me too.

The game will be played Sunday at 4:30pm.

This is a winnable game for Andy Reid and his ragtag bunch of football players. They will be facing Reid’s former assistant and former offensive coordinator Brad Childress, who is now the head coach of the Vikings.

This matchup is intriguing. Adrian Peterson is one of the best running backs in the league and he will be facing one of the best run defenses in the league in the Eagles.

The Vikings do not have a strong secondary, actually one of the worst in the league, and the Eagles love to throw the football.

So, something has to give at some point.

I am not going to give any game predictions today. Predictions will have to wait until at least Friday. I have to stew a little more about this game.

44-6 Victory

With their 44-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday evening at Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles secured the sixth seed in the NFC playoffs.

They will visit the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the playoffs this coming weekend.

In the 44-6 destruction of the Cowboys the Eagles offense put up 303 net yards of offense and was directly reponsible for 30 of the team’s 44 points.

The other 14 points were scored on defensive touchdowns from Chris Clemons and Joselio Hanson. Both players recovered fumbles and returned them for touchdowns.

Clemons’ return went 73 yards and Hanson went for 96 yards. Both fumble returns came on successive Cowboys drives.

The Birds sacked Tony Romo four times. The defense forced five fumbles, recovered all five, and picked off one of Romo’s passes.

The Eagles turned the ball over only once in the win.

More incredible stats from the big win coming on Tuesday.
