Ravens a Tough Task

Published by Jim Vassallo at 10:41 pm under Games, General Football, NFC, News and Notes Edit This

The Eagles travel to Baltimore on Sunday to take on former assistant John Harbaugh’s Ravens in what will be a difficult game.

The Ravens have one of the best defenses in the league but struggled last week against the now 9-1 New York Giants in a 30-20 loss.

The Ravens are a tough pass defense team and are also tough to run against, which will be a problem for Brian Westbrook and the Eagles.

Westbrook is not fully healthy and facing such a tough defense will limit his game greatly on Sunday.

The Eagles are 5-4-1 coming into the game while the Ravens are 6-4 and are second in the AFC North behind the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are playing tonight against the Bengals in the steel city.

The Ravens are one game behind the Steelers for the lead in the division and with a Pittsburgh win, which is likely to happen (they lead 20-7 in the 4th Q), would need a win against the Eagles on Sunday to stay within one game of the division lead.

This game is more important for the Ravens than the Eagles even though the Eagles think they still have a shot at the playoffs, which are pretty much out of reach now.
