Eagles Running Out of Time

Published by Jim Vassallo at 6:13 pm under Games, General Football, NFC, News and Notes Edit This

The Eagles are now 5-4-1 on the 2008 season and are running out of time as each week flies by. On Sunday, the Birds face the Baltimore Ravens, who are coming off a 30-20 loss to the Giants.

Let’s face the facts here folks, the Eagles are spent. There is nothing left in the tank. They are all but finished for the 2008 season.

The offense is far from stellar and the problems lie under center and on the sideline.

Donovan McNabb has not been playing well for the past three weeks and the play calling, as usual, has not been exciting since the start of the season.

Both head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg have been doing a subpar job with the offense and the play calling since day one of their relationship together.

To say the Eagles are running out of time is an understatement and a lie. The Eagles are already out of time. Its over. The season is lost. The tie with the Bengals is not only embarrassing but has destroyed their shot at the playoffs.

Not to mention the Cowboys actually won a game on Sunday against the Redskins. This makes it even harder for the Eagles to grab a playoff spot, which would be one of the Wild Card spots.

As a fan I request that the Eagles do one thing; please make the remainder of the season worthwhile to watch.

it was really difficult to hear about McNabb’s lack of knowledge on overtime rules. I really did think that they were the one of the top teams in the NFL this offseason..
