Need a Fast Start
The Eagles cannot afford anymore slow starts, not one.
The team is sitting at 5-4, three games behind the division leading Giants (8-1), and need every win they can get.
They travel to Cincinnati to face the 1-8 Bengals on Sunday, a team they should be able to throttle from start to finish.
One problem with the 2008 version of the Eagles is that they are notorious for slow starts on offense.
In the team’s 36-31 loss to the Giants on Sunday night at Lincoln Financial Field, Donovan McNabb did not complete a pass to a wide receiver until there was roughly eight minutes left in the second quarter of play.
That is absolutely unacceptable.
This team needs a quick start. They need to be able to mount an opening drive that takes six minutes off the clock, as they drive 75 yards downfield and score.
It needs to be done.
They need to get off the slow start schneid. Plain and simple. If not, the remainder of the season will not be a good one.
