Eagles v. Giants: First Half
The first half of Sunday night’s NFC East tilt between the Eagles and the Giants began the way not only the Eagles wanted it to but also how their fans wanted it to.
The Giants opened the game with the ball on offense and proceeded to turn it over on an Eli Manning interception. The ball was batted into the air by defensive tackle Mike Patterson, who then made the pick, and returned it to the Giants nine yard line.
Two plays later, DeSean Jackson took a direct snap and ran nine yards for the game’s first score. He has 3 carries for 24 yards and the one score.
Brian Westbrook has 6 carries for a measly 17 yards.
Donovan McNabb is 9 for 20 with 85 yards passing, one touchdown and one interception. The touchdown pass went 10 yards to Jason Avant who has 2 catches for 25 yards and the one score.
The Eagles also lost a fumble on a kick return by Quinten Demps.
The Eagles defense has sacked Eli Manning only once but linebacker Chris Gocong forced a fumble from Brandon Jacobs and the Eagles recovered it.
Manning is 14 of 22 for 149 yards and two touchdowns.
Plaxico Burress has found the endzone against the Eagles yet again.
David Akers connected on a 29 yard field goal with under 10 seconds remaining in the second quarter to make it 20-17 Giants at the half.
