Lito Questionable
Eagles cornerback Lito Sheppard is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants.
The Eagles are hosting the Giants at Lincoln Financial Field for Sunday Night Football.
The Eagles will need as many healthy bodies in the secondary as possible with all of the wide receiving options the Giants can throw at the Eagles defense at one time.
One question that will be answered on Sunday is whether or not Asante Samuel will be able to perplex wide recevier Plaxico Burress as much as he did in the AFC Championship Game in 2005 when Samuel was still with the Patriots and Burress was still with the Steelers.
Samuel held Burress to three catches and 37 yards. One of those catches was for a touchdown.
The Patriots did not have Samuel cover Burress one on one in the Super Bowl, which might have been why he scored three touchdown passes in the final two games in which the two teams faced each other in.
Burress also scored the Super Bowl winning touchdown.
It remains to be seen what defensive scheme Jim Johnson will throw at Burress on Sunday.
