Bye Week Looming

Published by Jim Vassallo at 4:59 pm under General Football, News and Notes Edit This

The Eagles have reached their 2008 bye week which can be good and bad all at once.

Following their 40-26 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, the Eagles finally found a second half rhythm. They scored 23 points in the fourth quarter after blowing their first half lead.

Does the bye week hurt this team at the present time? I don’t think so. I think the bye week, right where it is situated, helps this team.

The Eagles are 9-0 coming out of a bye week under current head coach Andy Reid and need to jump to 10-0 with a win coming out of this bye week.

The Birds face the Atlanta Falcons coming out of the bye week and need a win. The Birds are 3-3 and all three of their losses have come within the conference. They can’t afford a fourth loss in the conference because this team is not going to win the division.

The one problem is that the Falcons are better than most people expected and Matt Ryan has progressed nicely as the team’s quarterback.

Eagles need this win coming out of the bye week more than ever.
