Rocca is Honored

The NFL announced on Wednesday that Eagles punter Sav Rocca was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for the month of September.

He led the NFL with a 44.1 net average on punts in the month of September. He had punts with the length of 65, 64, and 61 yards. The 65 yard punt was a career long.

7 of his 18 punts have been placed within the 20 yard line by Rocca to pin back opponents’ offenses.

Rocca is the only Eagles punter in the team’s history to garner the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month Award. Kicker David Akers has also won the award for the Eagles in November of 2000 and most recently in October of 2007.
